As we get older, our skin naturally looses its elasticity and firmness due to the reduction in the amount of collagen and elastin that is produced, resulting in the appearance of of loose skin. Furthermore, where our skin thins as we age and our fat pads shrink and move, this can also exacerbate the appearance of loose skin specifically in the face.
However, in some cases, even younger skin can become loose and is often caused by a variety of other factors, including rapid weight loss, sun damage, dehydration and pregnancy.
Nevertheless, just because your body has been affected by the reduction of collagen and elastin that supports the structure of the skin, it doesn’t mean that all is lost and there are certain things you can do at home, and professional treatments you can have that will get you your confidence back.

Using retinol has been scientifically proven to thicken the outer layer of skin by 100% over the course of several weeks and is something that you can do at home. You do however have to use retinol carefully and if its something you are interested in trying, message us and we will send you a little booklet to help you
Other treatments that can help that we do not offer include:
Plasma Pen:
This is similar to microneedling in that it creates tiny traumas to the skin, but does to in a way that removed the surface. It often has a high risk of scarring, so if this is something you might consider, please research thoroughly before going ahead.
PDO Threads:
This uses threads and anchors to lift the skin up and can last 5-7 years and is best for patients who aren't quite ready for surgery, but dermal fillers aren't doing as much as they did previously. It is now considered a surgical procedure which means if you go to a registered medical professional, they need to be CQC registered.
Surgery:
In some cases where skin is very loose, surgery may be the only option and we can recommend a plastic surgeon if this is the route you would be interested in going down.
