People commonly experience cellulite, which appears as dimpled, lumpy skin on the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. This condition occurs when subcutaneous fat deposits push against connective tissues, or when fibrous septae, the underlying connective tissue structure that binds together the fat cells, become rigid or lose their elasticity, causing them to protrude and create the characteristic dimpled, orange peel or cottage cheese appearance.
Whilst cellulite occurs due to a combination of factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, and lifestyle choices, a smaller dress size size does not necessarily mean you escape cellulite and we have come across patients who wear size 8 clothes but still have the dimpled appearance.
Even though cellulite can affect all genders, it is most common in women due to differences in fat distribution and connective tissue structure. Furthermore, women usually have a higher fat content than men, and because fat is distributed differently, favouring the hips, thighs, and buttocks, cellulite can be exacerbated by hormonal factors, particularly oestrogen.

At Sero Aesthetics we always put our patients at the forefront of everything we do.
We are a 5 star rated trusted aesthetics clinic based in Havant, near Portsmouth and are lead by Medically registered staff. We always work with our patients not on them and are often referred to as being knowledgeable, friendly, professional and approachable amongst our patients.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that cellulite is caused by underlying connective tissue structures, it is difficult to recommend anything you can do to help reduce the appearance of cellulite as brushes and creams will not work.
Whilst diet and exercise can help to a certain degree, we have had patients attend the clinic who are size 8 but still have the appearance of cellulite.

This is carried out by inserting a thin tool underneath the skin to break up the connective tissue and reduces the appearance of cellulite and we get great results with this
Other treatments that can help that we do not offer include:
Ablative Laser :
Ablative laser therapy can be used by placing a thin fibre under the skin that shoots a laser to break up the fibrous tissues which creates the fat compartments.
Liposuction:
Liposuction is used to remove areas of stubborn fat, but in the process of doing this, it breaks down the fibrous tissues under the skin that cause the fat compartments.
